The client, a business brand of one of the world’s largest industrial automation companies, a certified authority in ultrasonic materials joining, precision cleaning and liquid processing technologies, needed a service provider with a wide-ranging multiplatform mobile app development expertise under the belt, as well as excellent skills in design of the user interface controls and graphics.
Softeq was to develop a self-guided marketing tool, in the form of a mobile app for iOS and Android, that would help Branson’s global clients make a choice of the joining and welding technique that best fits their individual needs. The new solution was expected to assist the company’s salesforce in the sales process.
The mobile solution helps users chose an appropriate material joining technique through a unique Application Questionnaire. It is a custom “selection wizard” that easily guides users through a series of questions to selection of the best joining techniques for their choice of materials. It processes user input in the form of check box and radio button selections as answers to a series of questions on a set of screens.
The most challenging task was to develop an extensible file storage schema that supports multiple languages, and still remains simple enough to be maintained by users with limited technical experience.
The deliverables successfully accomplished the goals of the customer. The team presented the applications in the timeframe specified, releasing them to the App Store. This solution has become one of Branson’s differentiators and helps the company win business with equipment builders and product manufactures across the Automotive, Medical, Business and Consumer Electronics, Textile, Food and other domains.
