The client required an iOS app that would track deals and discounts offered by the local area businesses and push the notifications to the app users.
The mobile solution utilizes a client-server model with the server part driven by the MySQL database and Web Services, while the client part is realized as an iOS app.
The app gives members exclusive discounts with local retailers, service providers, food and beverage establishments, and entertainment venues in the metropolitan area of a large city in California.
The app finds deals and alerts the user when they are as close as 15-20 m to an offer (Geo-targeting feature). Alternatively, the user can use the category, distance or context based search to locate fun things to do in the city. The deal providers are displayed on Google maps (Geo-tagging feature).
The app will push notification about a deal even if the app has not been launched.
