The winners of the 2011 Access Awards were announced today by the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB). The AFB annually honors individuals, corporations and organizations that are eliminating or substantially reducing inequities faced by people who are blind or visually impaired.
We congratulate our client Walt Disney Parks and Resorts on being one of the four recipients of this year's American Foundation for the Blind Access Award. The AFB is honoring Walt Disney Parks and Resorts for the introduction of their new device at its U.S. theme parks to help individuals with hearing or vision impairments enjoy the full experience of Disney Parks.
Softeq has been proud to be the software and hardware development company over the past five years for this award winning assistive technology device. “Disney puts a lot of time and energy into making their parks truly accessible to everyone,” stated Chris Howard, CEO of Softeq.
The other 2011 Access Award recipients are The CBS Television Network, Lexmark International, Inc. and Accessible Twitter. The awards will be presented on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Josephine L. Taylor Leadership Institute at the downtown Seattle Renaissance Hotel.
Congratulations to each of the 2011 Access Award recipients!
